What does it do? - Lets you compose and notate your own songs

The other main use of NAF Scale Songs is as a composing tool.  Use it to notate songs or create your own songs using either Alphabet Song or Number TAB.

How many times have you played something really nice, but can't quite remember it later.  It's a common problem with Heart Song.  Now, before you forget it, you can capture your new tune using the very popular Number TAB system of notation.

With Alphabet Songs, you can compose tunes based on words or phrases.  It can be a great teaching exercise, and can make for unique 'signature' songs based on the musician's own name (or that of a loved one).

Play Your Name - Or create other Alphabet Songs

  •          Enter any letters and numbers, even your own name
  •          NAF Scale Songs converts your input to notes in the Pentatonic Minor scale
  •          Your new Alphabet Song is displayed using easy-to-read pictorial fingering charts

Compose and Notate using the popular Number TAB system invented by Scott August

  •          In Number TAB, the basic notes are 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 & 8
  •          Note 2 uses a half-hole technique on the bottom hole
  •          Notes 6, 9, and 10 are not in the basic Pentatonic Minor scale but are supported by standard NAFs
  •          Notes 2, 6, 9, and 10 are considered 'extended' notes
  •          Certain notes also have Sharps or Flats: 3#, 5b, 7#, 9b, 10#

Fine tune your composition using note modifiers and other insertions

  •          Follow any note with special characters to modify how that note is displayed
  •              Use - to shorten the note
  •              Use + to lengthen the note
  •              Use * to indicate a grace note or pop, etc.
  •          Edit your composition to make it more readable
  •              Use . or ENTER to start a new line
  •              Use > and < to mark sections for repeating
  •              Use SPACE to insert a pause
  •              Use _ to insert a visible line
